I will have to agree with most of the comments. Though, a very pleasing design, the
modernistic style appears wedged into the narrow site. The home yells "I am out of place" and displays total disregard to it's surroundings. It would of been more suitable for a larger site. It is correct that FLW may have been accused of his cavalier atitude, but he was always senstive to the site and what it told him. There were clients that were told to buy a larger site, if at all possible, so the design would work. It was his genius that made his homes project themselves.
Again, not knowing, why? One must feel that an Architect's purpose to is to design for his client ( not for themselves, though a tough course to follow ) and yet intergate the design with it's surroundings, in this case the neighborhood.
Another image that comes to mind is it says "commerical" . Which I feel will unfortunately de-value the adjacents proporties.
