A Modern List of Dallas Texas

July 19, 2011 by Bob Borson 1 Comment

We’ve often wondered how Bob does it all; a master architect, super-blogger, tweeting nearly everything his brain verbalizes, AIA wunderkind, connoisseur of all things design-minded and, on top of all that, a family man. How does he accomplish it all in the same 24 hours as the rest of us? Is he the bionic man? –maybe, but 6 million bucks doesn’t go very far anymore so if he’s bionic, he had to have more than 6 million bucks. Is he from a different planet? –perhaps, we’ve certainly accused him of this in the past. Could it be a synergistic balance between exercise and diet? If so, he hasn’t mentioned it on his blog. What the hell makes this guy tick?

The issue became so perplexing to use, that we rounded up a crack-team of academics and smarty-pants’ here at the BUILD World Headquarters and stuck them in the BUILD think-tank. There, amongst the trampoline, video games and cans of Rainier Beer, they came up with the answer. We determined that he’s not bionic at all –not even close. As it turns out, what makes Bob extraordinary is his exceptional environment (okay and he’s just a great all-around smart guy too).

So, for our debut performance on Life of an Architect, we’re bringing you the Modern List Dallas. We’ve sent in our commando team of internet scouts to track down all the cool, architecky, design-minded stuff that surrounds Bob; the stuff that gives Bob his aura of design savviness and go-get-em attitude.  We’ve mustered up the fortitude to leave out all those Dallas/ Texas puns, cliché’s, slogans and jokes, but we know you’re all thinking of your favorites right now (it’s hard not to, we know!).  This is about all things Modern in Dallas that makes Bob tick.
